Project History

The Project History tab in the Project Details view provides a comprehensive log of historical updates and changes made to the project. The view is split into two panes: the left pane displays a table of project history records, while the right pane shows details for the currently selected record.

A project history record is generated whenever you perform certain actions on the project, including:

  • Update Schedule or Reschedule operations.

  • Download of the project to Fusion Desktop.

  • Upload of the project from Fusion Desktop to Fusion Online.

Filtering and sorting options

  • Text search: Use the search box to filter records by searching for keywords within the comments field of each history record.

  • Sort order: Records can be sorted by Latest First or Oldest First, allowing you to quickly locate recent or earlier updates.

Available fields

The following fields provide a detailed view of each record’s information:

  • Update Date: The date and time when the update was made.

  • Event: The type of event, such as Update (Update Schedule), Reschedule, Upload (from Fusion Desktop), or Download (to Fusion Desktop).

  • Status Date: The status date selected at the time of the project update or reschedule.

  • Credibility Score: The credibility score generated during the update. Refer to the Credibility Score field definition for more details.

  • Source: Indicates where the update originated—Fusion (Fusion Online) or MSP (Fusion Desktop in Microsoft Project).

  • Comments: Any comments provided during the Update Schedule or Reschedule.

When a history record is selected, additional details appear in the right pane, including:

  • User name: The name of the user who initiated the update.

  • Comments: An expanded view of comments associated with the record.

  • Credibility report: A link to view the full credibility report, associated with the credibility score of that update.

Action menu

Each record in the Update Date column includes an action menu with the following options:

  • Delete: Deletes the selected history record and any associated status points in the Fever Charts.

    • The most recent record cannot be deleted.

    • The most recent Reschedule record cannot be deleted.

    • Upload and Download records cannot be deleted.

  • View Differences: Opens the Network Differences dialog, which compares changes between two history records. You can select another history record to compare against the selected one. The Network Differences report tracks changes such as task additions or deletions, duration adjustments, task name modifications, and link changes. A project network snapshot is taken with every Update Schedule or Reschedule, allowing for detailed comparisons between history records.

Updating comments

Comments can be edited for any Update or Reschedule record, and updates will reflect in the corresponding status points in the Fever Charts.
