Opening the view

The Resource Details view is typically opened in a sidebar when you click on a resource from a primary resource view or from the Resources tab. To open Resource Details as a primary view, CTRL-click the resource name; this will open the view in a new browser tab.

Header and controls

At the top of the Resource Details view, you’ll find key interface elements for resource identification and actions:

  • Resource UID: Displays the unique identifier for the resource. Clicking the UID opens the Resource Details in a new tab, and a link icon next to the UID allows you to copy the resource URL to your clipboard.

The resource UID is displayed as a link at the top of the view
  • Resource name and project badge: The resource name appears as the page title, with a colored project badge (indicating the project name) to the right. Clicking the badge opens the Project Details view.

View tabs

The Resource Details view includes multiple tabs:

  • Resource Details: The main tab, covered in detail on this page.

Resource fields

Fields in the Resource Details view are described in detail on the resource fields documentation. Additional information on specific fields:

  • Calendar: Displays the project calendar used as the base calendar for this resource. Click View Calendar to open the Calendar Details view, where you can select a different project calendar or override it with custom working hours or exceptions.

  • Parent Resource: Assign a parent resource from the project to this resource. Load information is rolled up to parent resources, providing a comprehensive view of overall resource load.

  • Child Resources: Lists any resources designated as child resources of this resource. Clicking on a child resource opens its Resource Details view.

Resource availability

The Max Units for a resource is calculated based on availability records. By default, a resource has a single availability record with open From and To dates, indicating that the number of units available remains consistent over time. You can add additional availability records to reflect changes in availability over time. For each record, specify a From date, To date, and the number of Units available within that period. These availability records are used when scheduling tasks with this resource.
