On-premise installation

Fusion Online can be deployed on-premise, allowing your organization to host and manage the system on your own servers.

Overview

In an on-premise setup, Fusion Online runs on your company’s internal servers, fully managed by your IT department. Unlike the cloud-hosted version of Fusion Online, which is hosted and maintained by ProChain, the on-premise version is entirely under your organization’s control.

Since the application operates within your company’s network, it can be configured to support Windows Authentication, allowing users to seamlessly log in using their Active Directory (AD) credentials. This enables automatic authentication when users are logged into their computers, streamlining access without requiring additional login steps. For more information, see the Windows Authentication documentation.

Differences from cloud deployment

The on-premise version of Fusion Online includes the full range of features available in the cloud version, with the exception of authentication options:

  • Cloud Version – Supports Fusion Identity (the Fusion-provided authentication system) and offers integrations with third-party SSO providers.

  • On-Premise Version – Does not support Fusion Identity but includes its own version of SSO through Windows Authentication.

Other than authentication differences, the application functionality is identical to the cloud version.

Why choose on-premise?

Organizations may choose to install Fusion Online on-premise for various reasons, including:

  • Compliance requirements

  • Security policies

  • Control over data and infrastructure

  • Internal IT policies that require self-managed systems

Important considerations

Choosing an on-premise installation means your organization is responsible for:

  • Server provisioning and maintenance (including performance tuning)

  • Database management (including backups)

  • Application updates (provided by ProChain, but installed by your IT team)

  • High availability and disaster recovery (if required)

Ensure that your IT department has the necessary infrastructure and expertise to manage these responsibilities effectively.
