Common filter components

Fusion Online provides several common filter components that are used across different view types, allowing for flexible and efficient filtering. These components are consistent across various filters, such as for selecting users, dates, or multiple options (e.g., projects, task groups). Below is an overview of each common filter component.

Adding and removing filters

To customize your view, you can easily add or remove filters:

  • Adding a filter: Click the + add filter link located in the filter section. This will display a list of available filters. You can scroll through the list or type in the search bar to search for a filter by name, allowing you to quickly find the filter you need.

  • Removing a Filter: To remove an applied filter, click the X button located to the right of each individual filter.

These actions allow you to dynamically adjust the filters and tailor the data displayed according to your needs.

Multi-select filter

The Multi-select filter allows you to select multiple options to filter by, such as projects, task groups, or other entities. This filter lets you apply multiple selections and refine your view accordingly.

  • Usage: This filter is often used when filtering tasks by groups, projects, or other entities where multiple selections are needed.

  • Features:

    • You can select more than one option from the dropdown list.

    • Selected options are displayed as tags that can be easily removed.

    • The results will match any of the selected options.

    • You can type in the dropdown to search for the item you are looking for, making it easier to find options in large datasets.

Selecting multiple items

User selection filter

The User Selection Filter is used for selecting users in filters like Assignee, Task Manager, or Project Manager. It helps narrow down users by providing a user group filter and showing recently selected users for convenience.

  • Usage: Typically used in filters where you need to select users, such as filtering by managers.

  • Features:

    • Multi-selection: You can choose multiple users at once.

    • Recent Users: The dropdown shows your most recently selected users for quicker access.

    • User Group Filter: You can narrow the set of users by applying a user group filter, making it easier to locate the relevant users in a larger organization.

    • You can type to search for users in the dropdown. The search function matches based on first name, last name, and email address, making it easier to locate the specific user you are looking for.

Date Filter

The Date Filter allows you to filter based on specific dates and date ranges, offering flexible options for creating conditions with operators like "Greater than" or "Less than." You can also create AND or OR sets by using multiple date conditions.

  • Usage: Commonly used for filtering by dates, such as Projected Start or Last Update.

  • Features:

    • Select a date and apply operators like "Greater than", "Less than", or "Equals".

    • Optional: Add a second date to create a range or apply additional logic for AND/OR conditions.

    • Relative date options are also available, such as "1 month ago" or "2 weeks from today", depending on the field.
