Analyze resource load
Fusion provides powerful tools to help project managers understand how resources are being used across projects—and whether there's enough availability to support current or upcoming work. Using resource views and load graphs, you can analyze workload distribution, identify potential bottlenecks, and plan staffing needs more effectively.

Start with a resource view
To begin analyzing resource load:
Open a resource view—either one of your saved views or the default My Resources.
Use filters to focus on specific projects, groups, or resources as needed.
If you're using a Program file, note that load graphs do not include subproject data by default. To analyze load for an entire program, filter for the individual projects within the program or use a group that includes both the program and its subprojects.
Use a template to aggregate load
If you’ve created a project template, you can use it to aggregate load across multiple projects:
In the resource view, select a Template from the dropdown.
Fusion will aggregate resource load from all projects that match the current filter, using the resource availability defined in the template.
The template itself will not contribute to the load—it’s used only to define resource types and their availability.
Configure load settings
In the resource view, use these settings to control how load is displayed:
Load Period – Select the time window over which load will be graphed. The simplest option is Project Duration, but you can choose other predefined ranges if needed.
Load Type – Choose between:
Projected Times – Based on current task forecasts
Expanded Times – Takes into account low-risk durations and integration risk
These options allow you to view either a best-case scenario or a more conservative view of potential scheduling impact.
View a resource load graph
To drill into the details for a specific resource:
Click the action menu (⋮) next to the resource’s name.
Select View Load Graph.
This opens a detailed load graph showing the resource’s demand over time.
From the load graph:
Use Group by > Projects to see a stacked graph of load by project
Check Show availability to see how many units of the resource are available over time (from the template, if aggregating)
Spot periods of overallocation or underutilization at a glance
