Add new tasks and endpoints

As your project evolves, you may need to add new tasks or define additional endpoints. Fusion makes it easy to do this from multiple places—either through forms in the interface or visually using the Network Diagram.

Add a new task

You can create a new task from the Create menu in the top navigation bar:

  1. Click Create in the top bar and select Project Task.

  2. In the task creation form, select the project where the task should be added.

  3. Fill in task details such as name, duration, assignee, and any other relevant fields.

  4. Click Save to save the task.

Once added, you can further configure the task, set links, or assign resources through the Task Details view.

Add a new endpoint

Endpoints represent key deliverables or completion milestones for your project. You can add a new endpoint directly from the Endpoints tab in the Project Details view:

  1. Open your project’s Project Details view.

  2. Click the Endpoints tab.

  3. Click on the + create new endpoint link to create a new endpoint.

By default, new endpoints are set to “Rebuffer on next update”, which means a buffer will be calculated for the endpoint the next time you update the schedule.

Create tasks and endpoints in the Network Diagram

The Network Diagram is often the most intuitive way to add new tasks and endpoints—especially if you need to connect them to other tasks in the network.

To add tasks or endpoints visually:

  1. Open the Diagrams tab from the Project Details view.

  2. Click the name of the network diagram or create a new diagram

  3. In the diagram, click Create Draft.

  4. From the left toolbar, open Add Item and drag a Task or Endpoint into the diagram workspace.

  5. Use the gray connector circles on each task to drag and drop links between tasks, allowing you to quickly build dependencies.

  6. Double-click on the item to enter task or endpoint details in the task details panel.

  7. The final step is to Publish the diagram to commit your changes.

The visual interface makes it easy to immediately link new tasks into the existing network and ensure new endpoints are properly connected to their driving paths.
