Install Fusion Desktop
Fusion Desktop and Fusion Pipeline are desktop applications that integrate with Microsoft Project. If an administrator has assigned you a Desktop App license, you can download and install the software following the steps below.
1. Download the installation file
If you have a Fusion Desktop or Fusion Pipeline license, you can download the installation file directly from Fusion Online.
Steps to download
Log in to Fusion Online.
Go to My Account > Desktop App (see documentation).
Click Get Installer to download the installation file.
(Optional) Download documentation and release notes from the same page.
Note: If you do not see the Desktop App page:
You may not have a Desktop App license assigned. See Manage Fusion Desktop Licenses.
Your system administrator may have disabled downloads by turning off Allow Download and Auto-Update in System Options.
If you cannot access the installation file, contact your system administrator. Your IT department may manage software installations.
2. Install Fusion Desktop
Before installing Fusion Desktop or Fusion Pipeline, ensure that Microsoft Project is installed on your computer.
Installation steps
Locate the downloaded installation file.
Double-click the file to run the installer.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
3. Activate Fusion Desktop
The first time you open Fusion Desktop or Fusion Pipeline in Microsoft Project, you will be prompted to license and activate the software.
Select a licensing option
Use Fusion Online based license – Select this if your Fusion Online account has a desktop app license assigned. You will be prompted to create a connection profile using your Fusion Online instance URL.
Enter a new Fusion Desktop license key – Select this if you were given a license key instead of being assigned a license in Fusion Online.
If you do not know which option to select, contact your Fusion Online administrator.
Troubleshooting & additional help
