Collaborate with your team
Fusion Online provides built-in collaboration tools that allow you to have clear, focused conversations about the work—right where the work is happening. Whether you're clarifying task details, requesting help, or following up on assignments, you can communicate directly with your team members in the context of each task—or even across the entire project.
Use comments to communicate on tasks
The Comments section in the Task Details view lets you have ongoing conversations with teammates about specific tasks. Comments stay attached to the task, making them easy to reference later and keeping the discussion focused.
Tips for Effective Collaboration
Mention teammates with @mentions Type
@in the comment field to bring up a list of users. Select a name to mention someone directly—this will notify them of your comment.Example:
@Peter Smith Can you clarify the data source for this analysis?Check your notification settings Make sure the Mentions toggle is ON under Activity Notifications in your Notification Settings so you receive alerts when you're mentioned in comments.
Subscribe to tasks you care about If you want to follow a task more closely—even if you're not assigned to it—click Subscribe at the top of the Task Details view. This ensures you get notified about any activity on that task.
Keep the conversation going (when it adds value) Use the comment thread to ask for updates, clarify expectations, or share progress.
Example:
@Sam Jones I’ve added the draft. Let me know if you have edits before tomorrow’s review.
Use reactions to acknowledge comments
In addition to written replies, you can use reactions to respond quickly to a comment or description in both Task Details and Project Details.
Click on the Add Reaction icon under the comment to see the reaction icons, then click to add a reaction such as 👍 (thumbs up).
This is a simple, effective way to let your team members know you've acknowledged their comment—especially when no further response is needed.
Reactions are useful for:
Confirming that you’ve seen an update
Showing agreement or support
Reducing unnecessary follow-up messages
Collaborate at the project level
In addition to task-level communication, you can also leave comments on a project as a whole:
Go to the Project Details view
Use the Comments tab to start or join a discussion
Mention users using
@as you would in task commentsSubscribe to the project to stay informed of updates and conversations
