Use a credibility profile

Credibility profiles help assess the quality and reliability of your project schedule in Fusion Online. When a credibility profile is assigned to a project, it provides a credibility score each time the schedule is rescheduled or updated, helping project managers and stakeholders quickly gauge whether the schedule is well-constructed and trustworthy.

What is a credibility profile?

A credibility profile defines the criteria used to score a project schedule. These criteria are based on best practices and characteristics associated with credible planning. Profiles are created and managed by system administrators and typically define:

  • Scoring parameters (e.g., percentage of tasks with links, buffer duration, critical chain length)

  • The weight assigned to each parameter

  • A threshold that determines what is considered a "low" credibility score

For more information, see Credibility Profiles in the System Setup section.

Assigning a credibility profile to a project

To assign a credibility profile to a project:

  1. Go to the project’s Project Details page.

  2. In the General section, locate the Credibility Profile field.

  3. Select a profile from the dropdown list and click Save.

Once a credibility profile is assigned, Fusion Online will automatically evaluate the schedule against the selected profile whenever the schedule is:

  • Rescheduled (for a newly built project)

  • Updated (for a project in execution)

Viewing the credibility score and report

After rescheduling or updating the schedule, a credibility score will appear in the Project Details view. You can also open a Credibility Report by clicking on the icon next to the score. The report provides:

  • A detailed breakdown of how the score was calculated

  • Which scoring criteria were met or missed

  • Which parameters had the most impact on the score

If the credibility score falls below the threshold defined in the selected profile, the project will be flagged with a warning icon displayed next to the credibility score.

Why use a credibility profile?

Credibility profiles support better planning by:

  • Highlighting potential weaknesses in the schedule logic

  • Encouraging adherence to best practices

  • Providing stakeholders with a measurable indicator of project plan quality
